OPTIONAL CASTERS AVAILABLE ON ALL LEGS Jasper Community Chenoweth Specifications: Wood Species: All parts are constructed from select hardwood; oak or maple. All lumber is thoroughly air seasoned before kiln drying to a moisture content of 6%. The lumber is then allowed to temper before milling. Details of Construction: The seat is double saddled, rounded in front for comfort and style and is made from 1 ј” lumber. The seat is glued together with a high grade of glue. The back and front posts are made with 1 Ѕ” lumber. All rails are attached to the legs with mortise and tennon and glued at each joint. Arms are chucked and glued to the back posts and are reinforced with a screw through the back post into the back side of each arm; these screws are concealed with wood buttons. The vertical back slats are chucked and glued into the horizontal top and second top. All stretchers are chucked and glued into adjoining parts. The seat is attached to the chair frame by steel screws up through the rails from the underside for total concealment. The frame is additionally reinforced by corner blocks which are glued and screwed to the seat rails. For extra stability and strength, a 3” screw is placed through the center of each corner block and into each adjoining leg. Finish: Each chair has an even coat of a no-wipe stain, followed by a coat of sealer. A light sanding is given and then oven dried for 30 minutes. Another coat of catalyzed sealer is applied and oven dried for another 30 minutes. Another light sanding process is performed to assure a smooth finish. Then the product is sprayed with a 45 sheen catalyzed lacquer and oven dried for an additional 30 minutes. Then there is a 30 minute cool down period before final inspection. Hardware: Each chair is equipped standard with rubber cushion nickel plated glides. Upholstery: Each seat consists of Ultra-Flex rubber sheeting and a 1 Ѕ” thick high density polyurethane padding. All upholstery materials pass the California Fire Retardant Code, Class 1, Commercial Standard 191-53, and Technical Bulletin #117.
